I learned something important today: I must read author bios more closely when I do promo posts. Why? you may ask. What does this have to do with Boomerang? I HAD NO IDEA NOELLE AUGUST WAS REALLY VERONICA ROSSI AND ANOTHER AUTHOR WRITING TOGETHER. Ok, now I feel better.Seriously, I loved this book. It was everything I could want in a new adult book. It was sassy and sexy, sweet and funny. When Mia awakens naked with total(ly gorgeous) stranger Ethan, she doesn’t remember the details of how they met or what they did together. She also doesn’t know that things are about to get a whole lot more interesting for both of them as they realize that not only their internships are with the same company, but that they’re competing for a coveted position within Boomerang.
Boomerang might be a dating company, but they have a strict policy that forbids coworkers from dating each other. So no matter the attraction and chemistry they shared, a relationship of any kind between Mia and Ethan is out of the question while they’re both interning with Boomerang. The full-time job that’s up for grabs is something both characters desperately want/needs, so they’re willing to try to put a cap on their attraction and see what happens. Of course, the more they work together, the more difficult it is to resist each other – and it’s even harder to watch the other person go on the requisite dates with Boomerang clients. Things were bound to begin to get messy.
Mia and Ethan were absolute GOLD together. Not only did they have the sassy and sarcastic banter I love in books like this, but they complemented each other perfectly. I thoroughly enjoyed watching their relationship grow as they spent more time together for work. Of course, it was even more fun to read along as the oh-so-fuzzy details of their night together began to come back to them. Steamy! But, more than the steam factor was the actual slow burn with which their relationship built. There were some great, swoony moments in this book that gave me all kinds of feels.
I’m so excited about this new series. This was one of those books I didn’t know much about before I sat down to read it, but once I started, I couldn’t think of putting it down. I can’t wait until boss man Adam gets his own book this fall!
I received a copy of this book from the publisher, via Edelweiss, in exchange for an honest review.

Boomerang A Boomerang Novel Noelle August 9780062331069 Books Reviews
Boomerang is a fresh take on the new adult genre. I'm an avid new adult reader, but lately I've become disenchanted with the genre as every NA book is the same - queue up the over-the-top drama, the constant back and forth and the unnecessary heartache. It's hard to find a character that doesn't have an incredibly messed up past (or present). Boomerang was like a breath of fresh air.
The book follows Mia and Ethan who coincidentally end up meeting at a bar, getting drunk and going home together - neither of which remembers what happened the night before. The next morning is admittedly awkward, but becomes even more awkward when they realize they are starting a new internship at the same place (i.e. Boomerang). The two have an undeniable connection and attraction to each other, but interoffice relationships are forbidden. On top of that, there is only one position available at the end of the summer and they have to compete for it. Talk about an epically bad first day (with a massive handover to boot).
What made this for me was the fact that this was not heavy and depressing like almost every other NA book out there. Sure, Ethan and Mia have to deal with some crap - being an adult and entering the real world can suck at times. But these authors manage to do it in a way that keeps it relatively light and entertaining.
Said authors also do away with the typical bad boy jerk. If I already didn't love the book due to the fact that it's not a typical NA than Ethan totally sealed it for me. Ethan was awesome - I normally don't like dual POV, but I loved reading his POV. He was a hot, nice, smart guy that genuinely cared about the people around him. And I loved that he stayed the good guy throughout the book - even when some bad things were thrown his way. I was routing for him to get the job over Mia - girl power be damned.
As we know, the main conflict in the story centers around Mia and Ethan's attraction to each other and not being able to act on it. However, Mia also tells a lie. It was so nice to see the heroine being framed as the 'bad person' in the story. More often than not, the guy is the one that messes up. In this case that rests on Mia. Have I mentioned how much I liked Ethan? )
My only issue is the pining got a little old after a while. We knew how much Ethan and Mia wanted each other - especially considering that it felt like every page Ethan went on and on about how hot Mia was and vice versa. At times I wanted to shake my and shout 'we get it!'
Overall, this was an amusing and entertaining read. I can't wait to read the next book in this series.
